Corinne Szabo was born in Bergerac in 1970, and lives and works between Bordeaux and Issigeac in the Dordogne. She studied at the Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux and the University of Bordeaux III, where she obtained a Master's degree and a DEA in Plastic Arts on L'Appropriationnisme.
Agrégée d'Arts plastiques in 1992, then a doctorate in Plastic Arts and Art Sciences on Les réminiscences des images et des théories à travers les siècles, in 2010 she obtained a position as Art History teacher in the khâgne of Bordeaux's Lycée Montaigne. In 2015, she created "La Vitrine des Essais" at 226, rue sainte Catherine (Bordeaux), an exhibition space based on a partnership between students in preparatory classes, artists and Bordeaux institutions, working together to put together exhibitions, write and communicate.
An art historian and visual artist, Corinne Szabo is developing a reflection on archaic and collective "representations" of the world: the "images" of nature, sexuality or beauty conveyed by art and science. Based on narratives from the history of art, philosophy or science, the works created or the lectures shared distance the construction processes of heritages and cultural values. Based on the appropriation of archives and the montage device, the associated elements generate the dramatization of a historical memory.
